Schreiner University Athletics
The university's sports teams, known as the Mountaineers, compete within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III. Currently, the Mountaineers are members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), though they are scheduled to transition to the American Southwest Conference (ASC) starting July 1, 2026.

Home games will be hosted at the Kerrville ISD's Antler Stadium.
The coaching staff has seen several updates during this rebuilding phase. Kenneth Treschitta, formerly the defensive coordinator for the New England Nor'easters, was named head coach on July 3, 2024. Following his departure in February 2025, Keith Allen took over the head coaching role. The staff was further strengthened on March 7, 2025, with the hiring of Shane Hallmark (formerly Klein High School head coach) as defensive coordinator, and on March 25, 2025, with David Jones (former Tivy High School head coach) as offensive coordinator.

Greek Life and Social Organizations

The first chartered sorority was Delta Phi Epsilon, which established its Gamma Gamma chapter on January 25, 2003. This was followed on May 3, 2003, by the Phi Delta Theta fraternity's Texas Sigma chapter. This fraternity was the first to be officially chartered, counting 26 founding fathers, including baseball second baseman Mickey Holt.
Other organizations include the Chi Phi fraternity, which founded a colony on February 21, 2001, before officially becoming the Iota Theta chapter in 2005. Additionally, the Theta Epsilon chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha was installed on March 25, 2006, marking the second sorority to join the campus community.
